Dick Carpenter

Dr. Dick Carpenter serves as a professor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and director of strategic research for the Institute for Justice. As an experienced researcher, Carpenter has published hundreds of reports and articles in academic journals, such as Economic Development Quarterly, Economic Affairs, Fordham Urban Law Journal, and Regulation and Governance.
The results of his research have been quoted in newspapers such as the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal; referenced in reports by the White House, federal bureaus, and state agencies; and cited in briefs before courts at all levels, including the United States Supreme Court. He is also the co-author of the 2016 book Bottleneckers: Gaming the Government for Power and Private Profit.
